Brett Locker
Mr. Locker counsels and represents a wide variety of individuals and service, manufacturing and information technology companies in connection with business, personal and intellectual property legal matters.
In transactional settings, Mr. Locker routinely counsels clients in connection with the purchase and sale of businesses; the selection, registration, licensing and defense of trademarks; the development of organization-wide IP protection and commercialization policies; the development of employment policies and employment manuals; the negotiation of employment agreements; the adoption, amendment, negotiation and interpretation of bylaws, articles of incorporation, operating agreements, shareholders’ agreements, and other corporate governance documents; and the negotiation and renegotiation of commercial leases.
In the context of disputes, Mr. Locker has represented plaintiffs and defendants in connection with opposition proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office Trademark Trial and Appeal Board; trademark and copyright infringement claims before the United States District Court; trademark infringement claims, unfair business practices claims, complex civil litigation matters, breach of contract claims, actions for the interpretation of contracts, collections claims, petitions for writs of mandate and Heggstad Petitions in jury and court trials before the California Superior Courts, and in binding commercial arbitrations; and wage claim disputes before the California Labor Commissioner Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.

Mr. Locker received his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 1994, and his Bachelor of Arts (in English) from UCLA in 1991.
